Anjarak Hotel
Bangkok Hotel near BTS Station

We flew into Bangkok to begin our tour of Thailand so we were only staying for one night. Of course, the first thing to decide is where to stay in Bangkok? We wanted a Bangkok hotel near to a BTS Station and also, if possible, the Airport Link train station. Luckily for us, we discovered the Anjarak Hotel which is ideally situated for both.
The Anjarak hotel is located just a few minutes walk from Phayathai BTS Station which is also the final stop for the Airport Link train. So when we left the airport we only needed to take one train directly to the hotel. Then once we had checked in and dropped our bags it was easy to take a BTS train to the Siam Mall for some shopping and food.
Great Location

So, as I have mentioned, the location suited us perfectly for our short stay. In my opinion, this would also be a good choice for a longer stay. Due to its easy access to transport options. You can access many of the sights and attractions in Bangkok using the BTS system and it also links to the metro and Express boats.
While we were in Bangkok it was pretty hot and you need to bear this in mind when deciding where to stay in Bangkok. Save your energy for enjoying the attractions and book somewhere with good transport options.

A Modern Hotel

What did I like about the Anjarak Hotel other than its location? Well, firstly, it’s a nice modern hotel. It’s also a quiet oasis in a busy, bustling city and so it’s lovely to return to after a busy day.
Inside, the hotel is fresh and clean. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. When you arrive at the hotel you need to go up to the 2nd floor to check in at reception and there is a doorman on the ground level to help to open the doors and give directions.

Our room was in the main building, the same one as the reception. There is also another building above the pool area. They are all joined together but the second building does not have a lift so bear this in mind if you don’t like stairs. I asked in advance to be given a room in the building with a lift to be sure.
As you can see in my photos, the hotel was very quiet when we were there. It’s a fairly small hotel but you certainly have enough space. We actually stayed twice, one night each time at the beginning and the end of our trip. As I keep saying, the location makes it ideal for this kind of stay as it is so convenient to get to and from the airport.
Pool

Outside there is a lovely, large swimming pool. It’s actually quite unusual because it is partly below one of the hotel towers. This allows for a good choice of sun or shade which is very welcome in the Bangkok heat. It’s a great place to cool off after a busy day sightseeing.

The outdoor area is located over two levels. The pool is on the lower level and then on the upper level is a spacious patio area which leads onto the lounge and dining room. It’s a very pleasant place to sit overlooking the pool.

If you prefer to sit inside and take advantage of the air conditioning there is a small lounge area adjacent to the lobby and dining room.
I apologise that I have no photos of the inside of our room at all from this hotel. Somehow that got overlooked. I did take this shot out of the window though. As you can see it is rather overcast. Levels of pollution in Bangkok can be high so it’s worth wearing a face mask if you’re sensitive to the smog. You won’t look out of place as a lot of people wear them and it does help to protect your lungs.

Where to Stay in Bangkok: Summary
When we were looking for somewhere to stay in Bangkok I picked out the Anjarak hotel based on online reviews and photos. All in all, I think it was a great choice and we will definitely stay there again when we visit Bangkok.
The hotel was good value for money and an excellent breakfast was included in our room rate.
